| It seems to have been quite some time since my last entry, and though I will not promise to write consistently, I will at least write.
I am pretty far into the book
American Prometheus: The Triumph and Tragedy of J. Robert Oppenheimer (link). It has been a wonderfully thought-provoking read. The topic of ambition, drive, and other character traits have been something I have thought about recently. However, the bigger issue of nuclear weapons and the role of the US in the larger world has given me a lot to think about. I will give you a good link to an article (no nukes).
Does anybody have any current contact information for Dr. Bill Mullins?
hope to talk with you soon.

| I voted (electronically).
why can't we vote between a capitalist, a marxist, and some laid back rastafarian with dreads?
but why do I only vote for white people? because they are the only ones on the ballot.

| back in the states. my first day was a little difficult and I think
that is going to continue for a while. the differences are striking but
before it was easier because I was more comfortable living on this side
of those differences. It becomes harder when you feel a large chunk of
yourself is more comfortable in a place that you will not be again for a
long time. p.s. an occasional meal at a mexican restaurant is not sufficient.
I am very thankful that I am here and anxious to spend time with
so many of you. also, I'd appreciate any prayers regarding my
transition, but in those prayers please mention those also from
Guatemala whom I have encountered. the three girls in my profile
pic can serve as a concrete image if needed.
